Setting up your team is quick and easy with Netball Game Planner. You can add, edit, and remove players effortlessly, ensuring your lineup is always up to date.

Adding and Editing Players

Start by entering each player’s name to create your team list. If you need to make changes later, simply press the player’s name the name to correct spelling or update details. Players can also be removed from the list at any time by swiping left, making team management flexible and hassle-free.

Setting Position Preferences

Once your players are added, assign their preferences for each position with a simple tap. Each position has three options:
👎 Dislike – The player prefers not to play in this position.
👍 Like – The player is comfortable playing here if needed.
❤️ Love – The player excels in this position and prefers to play here.

By setting these preferences, the app intelligently suggests the best lineup for each quarter, ensuring players are placed where they perform best while maintaining a fair and balanced rotation.

With Netball Game Planner, managing your team has never been easier!

Once your team is set up, planning your game lineup is simple and efficient. The app ensures that every player gets fair game time while keeping the lineup as strong as possible based on position preferences.

Selecting Available Players

Before setting up the lineup, mark who is available for the game. A checkbox appears next to each player’s name—uncheck anyone who isn’t playing to exclude them from the lineup selection. This ensures only active players are considered when assigning positions.

Managing Substitutions

If your team has more than seven available players, you’ll need to decide who will be on the bench each quarter. For each quarter, select any players that will be on the bench for that quarter by pressing the tick next to their name for the relevant quarter. This allows you to balance player rest while ensuring fair game time across quarters.

Finalising the Lineup

As you assign seven players for each quarter, the checkmarks next to their names will turn green, indicating that the lineup is complete for that quarter. Once all four quarters have seven players locked in, the app is ready to generate the best possible position assignments based on each player’s preferences.

Generating the Best Lineup

Press the 🔄 button, and the app instantly analyses every possible player-position combination for each quarter. It then selects the lineup that gives the most players their preferred positions, prioritising those they love while avoiding placements in positions they dislike. This ensures a strong, well-balanced team for each quarter while keeping your players happy and confident on the court.

Visualising Player Preferences

To make it easy to see how well your lineup matches player preferences, the app highlights positions where a player is assigned to one they love by displaying it in bold green text. This lets you quickly spot the strongest placements at a glance, helping you make informed decisions about your rotations.

Exploring Alternative Lineups

Need more flexibility? The app doesn’t stop at just one option! Use the arrow buttons at the top of each quarter to cycle through alternative lineups. This allows you to adjust for strategy, player stamina, and fairness, ensuring you have multiple options to choose from. Whether you want to strengthen defense, tweak shooting combinations, or balance playing time, the app gives you full control over your team’s lineup.
