Our Origin Story
My background is in software development, but my journey to building BookIt didn’t start at a keyboard—it started when I bought a well-known bin business in Melbourne.
The problem wasn’t a lack of effort; it was the lack of efficient tools. We were managing everything with a complex, decade-old system that demanded endless manual processes and consumed all our time.
I knew there had to be a better way. Using my technical expertise, I successfully overhauled the business’s entire operational foundation. I automated the daily grind, resulting in a business that ran significantly smoother, faster, and more efficiently.
When I spoke with other operators, the problem became clear: most small and medium-sized businesses were struggling with the exact same issue—either relying on clumsy, complex legacy software or, more commonly, trying to manage their entire fleet with no dedicated system at all.
I was genuinely excited by the opportunity to help other bin businesses operate this efficiently, so I sold my bin business to focus all my attention on this opportunity.
